Kforce has a client in search of a Contracts Specialist 5 in Tempe, AZ.Summary:The contract specialist position is responsible for performing contract assignments in support of local or centralized procurement activity or in the audit/review of that activity.Job Responsibilities:

  • Develops a roadmap of the conceptual design for future changes to the architecture of IT Solicits bids to procure a variety of required goods and services and negotiates and administers contracts
  • Assists with contract termination procedures
  • Performs basic analyses for firm fixed price or similar contracts
  • Participates as a team member on an acquisition management review team or on an equivalent assignment
  • Conducts basic procurement procedures and techniques
  • Performs commonly used contracting methods and contract types related to pre-award, post-award and/or price/cost analysis functions to perform well-defined and precedent contract actions
  • Analyzes business practices and market conditions to evaluate bid responsiveness, contractor responsibility and contractor performance
  • Presents factual information; Composes memoranda, minutes and reports; And drafts contract provisions and supporting documents
  • Solicits sources of supply and analyzes prices, discount rates, delivery dates, transportation charges, previous performance, commitments and indications of financial responsibility and recommends the most advantageous offer


  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Economics, Business or a related field
  • Knowledge of contracts and pre and post-award contracting policies and procedures in order to plan, execute, and administer a group of contracts, and any subsequent contract modifications for propriety of acquisition method, contract type, and documentation
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Skill in written and oral communications to present analysis and findings of performance reviews
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Successfully accomplish work with a moderate degree of independence occasionally balancing competing priorities with short lead times
