Application Development Manager

Kforce has a client in search of an Application Development Manager in Hartland, WI. This role is currently 100% remote and WILL switch back to office environment when COVID-19 ramps down; must be able to work in office at that time. Summary: The Application Development Manager position is responsible and accountable for day-to-day supervision and direction of development related roles. Key Tasks:

  • Directly supervises application development professionals
  • Has management accountability for the administration and operational support of specific functional IT development activities supporting departmental and/or functional strategy
  • Leads structured methods to analysis, design, development, test, and implement
  • Role requires an emphasis in managing relationships with business partners, external vendors, internal IT management and own development team
  • Works closely with senior leadership and product owners to influence technical and developmental aspects of the supported applications
  • Evaluates development needs, allocate resources and ensure adherence to technical standards
  • Accountable for administrative management of direct reports and reporting of work progression
  • Partner with product teams and enterprise architects to drive and support strategic enterprise vision and design

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent experience required, Master's degree desired
  • 7-10 years of application development & support on multiple platforms with management experience
  • Experience working with business partners and product owners to drive application solutions; The capacity and desire to handle heavy workloads and extra hours when required in a fast paced, changing environment
  • Experience with Agile development, Scrum framework preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Technical skills to work with Enterprise Architects to convey design patterns and solutions
  • Ability to work with confidential data such as financial, process, service and product costs
  • Working knowledge of SQL based systems
  • Experience with Server and Client-side programming languages and frameworks (C#, JavaScript, Angular)
  • Experience with development tools (Azure DevOps, Visual Studio, SSMS, Git)
  • Experience with DevOps and PaaS solutions
  • Cloud serverless development experience a plus (Azure, AWS or GCP)
