 Since science is a key to build trust with regulators & scientific community, Global Scientific Affairs objective is to:

  • Disseminate JLI’s research and science to internal and external audiences
  • Integrate scientific evidence into global operations by partnering with in-country teams
  • Help JLI make science-based arguments by being involved with all external messaging of scientific content
  • Facilitate scientific outreach: Strengthen connections with external researchers through Investigator-Initiated Research (IIR)

Manager, Global Scientific Affairs

The Manager, role plays a central role in developing and implementing the Global Scientific Affairs function at JUUL. This role will influence our approach to one or more of the objectives bulleted above. you will work closely with subject matter experts and operational leaders to plan and coordinate all operational aspects (timeline, tasks, budget reforecasts,prioritization) for key projects/programs as assigned, assuring optimal execution and deliverables. You will be accountable for managing complex, important projects. We will rely on you to advance day-to-day activities for cross-functional projects. The successful candidate is a team player who is self-directed, is kind to everyone, and thinks like an owner (all JUUL Labs employees are shareholders).

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and complete action plans
  • Implement productivity and quality standards
  • Determine ways to improve our systems
  • Enhance workflow and organization of Scientific Affairs team by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different request
  • Manage the preparation and maintenance of reports necessary to carry out the functions of the department
  • Prepare periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested, to track strategic goals accomplished
  • Lead and coordinates joint meetings, generate tools and communications in order to
  • optimize the collaborative environment
  • Identify opportunities and create tools to monitor progress and problem solving within the function or department

Based in San Francisco.  For exceptional candidates, remote, Washington, DC, Europe, and Asia are potential locations.

PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Scientific training in academic (undergraduate or graduate) and/or commercial settings
  • Two or more years of experience with project management
  • Experience with searching, organizing, critiquing published scientific literature on both written and verbal basic
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects
  • Excellent organization and presentation skills
  • Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and propose actionable recommendations
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
