Haptics Engineer


Reporting to the Advanced Technology Group, the Haptics Engineer will develop new technologies and platforms as well as support the engineering team in development of new products. We are looking for an extraordinary, results-driven engineer with expertise in haptics to make contributions towards developing and deploying exciting and novel sensory technologies. You will join a small, yet growing, world-class team to lead or contribute to various research and development activities relating to this technology. Your role and responsibilities will include sensor and actuator component definition and design, system design, algorithms and characterization. Your work directly influences the user interface and contributes to the exceptional user experience for the JUUL device Sensor and actuator technology investigation selection of beneficial technologies for development

  • Haptic module design, modeling, rapid prototyping and requirements for system integration
  • Perform system modeling, simulation, and prototyping
  • Characterize haptic and sensory devices and evaluate system performance
  • Define test requirements for haptic devices and systems
  • Schematic design for test fixtures for haptics and sensor systems
  • Some international travel to support development
  • IP Creation
  • 5+ years’ experience in working with haptic systems
  • Experience in modeling and analysis of electro-mechanical systems
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, SPICE, Simulink, or similar simulation and modeling tools
  • Working knowledge of electromagnetic and piezoelectric actuators, sensor interfaces and signal processing
  • Sensor and actuator system design, analysis, implementation, and validation
  • Possess a strong background in analog and mixed signal design
  • Be energetic, creative and work well in a collaborative cross-functional environment


B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Applied Physics or equivalent, M.S./Ph.D is preferred
