JUUL Labs is searching for a hand-on Cloud Security Architect to join our Cloud Security and Cyber Assurance team. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Cloud Security, this individual will act as a trusted advisor and a subject matter expert for the security of the firm's public cloud implementation. The ideal candidate will partner with and lead the way for our software developers and infrastructure teams to build security into their cloud-based solutions.

  • Work directly with partners in IT, Risk Management, and Product Engineering to assess and identify issues in cloud-based applications, cloud configuration, and infrastructure
  • Perform threat research and build threat models to address sophisticated adversaries, focusing on actors and vectors
  • Perform architectural risk analysis and design reviews
  • Develop custom tools and techniques to support cloud-based monitoring and threat defense
  • Develop cloud security strategies and guardrails to enable a strong security posture
  • Support CI/CD efforts
  • Provide guidelines and solutions for cloud cryptography services, cloud-based authentication solutions, configuration management frameworks, containers, and orchestration security controls
  • Partner with our offensive security and threat hunting initiatives
  • Generate professional security assessment reports and bulletins for the firm
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to engineering teams on threat and vulnerability remediation


  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • 7 + years of direct experience in a technical cyber security or security engineering role 
  • Expertise in securing one or more public cloud solutions such as AWS and GCP
  • Previous experience in working with common and industry standard cloud-native authentication mechanisms (SAML, OAuth, etc.).
  • Knowledge of data protection concepts
  • Understanding of CI/CD Deployment pipeline (Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform)
  • Hands-on knowledge of Programming languages (Python, Java, Go, etc.)
  • Knowledge of container orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Docker, Puppet, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Native AWS Tools and Custom tools
  • Expert knowledge of existing and emerging attacks, and mitigation methods
  • Familiarity with cloud configuration management frameworks
  • Experience with application and architecture security reviews
  • Strong problem solving and program execution skills
