Senior Lead Architect, Governance

As a Senior Lead Architect at JPMorgan Chase within Infrastructure Platforms, you play a crucial role in developing high-quality architecture solutions for a range of software applications and platform products. Your expertise across multiple architecture domains allows you to promote significant business impact and shape the target state architecture. You are responsible for ensuring that the Infrastructure Platforms portfolio of applications complies with the firm's Architecture Governance requirements. Furthermore, you will engage in developing tools, processes, techniques, and forums to support architects in adhering to our governance standards.

Job responsibilities

  • Represents a product family of technical governance bodies
  • Develops, refines and manages architecture governance practices
  • Guides evaluation of current technology and leads evaluation of new technologies using existing standards and frameworks
  • Regularly provides architecture governance guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
  • Drives decisions that influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
  • Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
  • Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience
  • Experience in architecture and architecture governance disciplines
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Demonstrated experience in regulatory compliance and risk management within technology environments,
  • Experience developing and implementing governance frameworks for large-scale, distributed systems or multi-cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and integrating security governance into the software development lifecycle.
  • Practical cloud native experience
  • Ability to evaluate current and emerging technologies to select or recommend the best solutions for the future state architecture
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Ability to mentor and coach junior team members on governance best practices and architectural principles.
