Lead Software Engineer - Java, AWS

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and community banking - API Marketplace, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

Job responsibilities

  • Lead and develop high-quality software applications.
  • Define and document software architecture, including system components, interfaces, and data flows.
  • Guide development teams in implementing software solutions.
  • Review code and design to ensure alignment with architectural vision.
  • Mentor and coach developers on best practices and design patterns.
  • Work with product managers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend new technologies, frameworks, and tools.
  • Oversee integration, testing, and deployment strategies.
  • Design systems for scalability, reliability, and performance.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages and frameworks such as: Java, Python, React JS, Spring, Kafka, Elastic Search, Kubernetes.
  • Deep understanding of software design patterns, principles, and best practices.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with Cloud Infrastructure Provisioning Tools like Terraform, Cloud Formation etc.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like Dynatrace, Grafana, Splunk, Prometheus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
