Lead Security Engineer - Network security/Infrastructure

As a Lead Security Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Cybersecurity & Technology Controls , you will securely manage the Lab as a Service (LaaS) product line. This role is responsible for securely designing, building, and maintaining fully isolated lab environments that enable various lines of business to safely test their products and solutions prior to integration into the broader JPMC environment. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in network engineering, security, and lab management, with a strong focus on operational excellence and stakeholder management.

Job responsibilities

  • Securely Design, deploy, and maintain isolated lab environments using advanced network gear and firewalls, ensuring complete separation from production and corporate networks.
  • Serve as the primary security owner for the Lab as a Service product line, including roadmap development, feature enhancements, and service delivery.
  • Collaborate with internal lines of business to understand their testing requirements, provide tailored lab solutions, and ensure seamless onboarding and support.
  • Works with stakeholders and business leaders to understand security needs and recommend business modifications during periods of vulnerability
  • Implement and manage robust security controls, including firewalls, access controls, and monitoring, to guarantee the integrity and isolation of lab environments.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on security concepts and 5+ years applied experience in network engineering, with a focus on designing and managing complex, isolated environments.
  • Strong expertise in firewalls, network switches, routers, and related technologies (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, etc.).
  • Proven track record in managing lab environments or similar infrastructure services.
  • Excellent understanding of network security principles and best practices.
  • Experience with threat modeling, discovery, vulnerability, and penetration testing
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
