As an Application Operations-Security Administrator within JPMorganChase, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring secure and efficient access to critical applications across the organization. Your primary responsibility will be to manage access provisioning and de-provisioning, ensuring that users have the appropriate permissions in accordance with security policies and compliance requirements. You will be expected to apply your knowledge of identity and access management (IAM), automation, and operational processes to solve problems and enhance our security posture. Your role will also involve collaborating with various teams, delegating tasks, and coaching others to ensure the successful completion of projects. Your decisions will have a significant impact on our short-term and long-term security goals. Your ability to think strategically, innovate, and build effective relationships will be key to your success in this role.

Job responsibilities

  • Provision and deprovision user access to various applications, ensuring compliance with security policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and process access requests, perform access reviews, and maintain accurate records of user permissions.
  • Collaborate with application owners, business units, and IT teams to ensure appropriate access levels are granted and maintained.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve access-related issues in a timely manner, providing excellent customer service to end users.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects, sharing knowledge and leveraging diverse perspectives to solve complex access management challenges.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations to team members, ensuring tasks and responsibilities are aligned with security and business objectives for efficient and effective outcomes.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Baseline knowledge or equivalent expertise in identity and access management (IAM).
  • Proficiency in using access management and automation technologies to support and implement provisioning initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from different departments, disciplines, or areas of expertise within an organization.
  • Experience in using ticketing systems, access management tools, and digital platforms to solve problems and improve processes.
  • Ability to generate new and useful ideas, obtain buy-in, and execute in order to deliver solutions that add value.
  • Excellent team player with strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Understanding of software delivery lifecycle and skills in industry standard security and access management methodologies.
  • Expertise in applying customer service skills to understand stakeholder needs and deliver tailored access solutions.
  • Skill in utilizing conflict management techniques to resolve stakeholder issues and facilitate effective collaboration.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Proficiency in implementing access controls and segregation of duties to support compliance and audit requirements.
  • Developing capability to craft clear and effective documentation for access provisioning processes and procedures.
  • Relevant certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Certified Identity and Access Manager, or equivalent).
  • Competence in using advanced IAM analytics tools to analyze trends.
