Global Investment Banking - Business Manager - Analyst

Job Summary

Seize the opportunity to join a dynamic and fast-paced environment as an Analyst within the Business Management team for APAC Global Investment Banking (GIB). This role supports the Australia Investment Banking business, as well as broader APAC Business Manager initiatives.
As part of the Business Management team, you will help drive business results, support the execution of strategic initiatives, and contribute to our Financial & Business Management agenda. This position offers exposure to all aspects of the business, with high impact, visibility, and a broad scope of responsibilities. Job responsibilities

• Support the APAC GIB Business Management team to define, implement and achieve business objectives, formulation of strategic decisions/initiatives and & identification of risks/opportunities
• Assist in management reporting, pipeline management, Dealogic tracking, expense and budgetary management, headcount analysis, relevant control steps across deal lifecycle, event coordination, and other internal data analytics and maintenance
• Work with regional/business management team on various regional/global deliverables, ranging from regulatory reporting to data analytics
• Working closely with various control and support functions on various BAU and ad hoc projects
• Preparation of slides, presentations such as business planning, town hall materials and board papers for senior audience

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Basic product and industry knowledge in investment banking; prior experience in Business Management or Chief Operating Office roles is a plus, but not required
• Some exposure to managing projects or supporting initiatives related to business expansion or simplification, with the ability to work on multiple priorities and deliver quality results under tight deadlines
• Ability to manage and prioritise stakeholder requests, and escalate issues appropriately
• Strong business acumen, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multi-task and adapt to changing demands
• Interest or experience in process improvement
• Proactive, organized, and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, with excellent attention to detail
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills; able to present ideas and support conclusions to team members and, occasionally, senior audiences
• Collaborative team player who can work well with a wide range of stakeholders across different functions and levels
• Self-starter with a positive attitude, motivation, solution-orientated and a willingness to learn quickly
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to create spreadsheets, perform basic data analysis, and prepare clear, well-structured presentations
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality
• Demonstrates professionalism, integrity and ethical judgment

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Not a requirement but if any experience in other coding languages (Python), data visualization tools (eg Tableau), experience with productivity tools (eg Alteryx, UI Path, databricks, ThoughtSpot
