As the Data Science Lead in Chase Business Banking, you will lead the next wave of Gen AI innovation, promoting impactful solutions for our customers and business partners. You will lead a team of junior data scientists to develop and deploy Gen AI use-cases that enhance Field Experience, Product Management, Customer Management, and Marketing. You will partner closely with Product Owners, Design, and Technology, acting as a key member of the product quad. Your role will be pivotal in assessing the performance, effectiveness, and implications of AI agents and systems, providing actionable, data-promoten feedback for continuous improvement. You will champion ethical AI practices, ensuring fairness, transparency, and accountability in all solutions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of junior data scientists in developing Gen AI use-cases for Chase Business Banking.
  • Design, implement, and optimize agentic AI architectures to support advanced Gen AI use-cases.
  • Define and implement robust metrics to evaluate AI agent performance (e.g., accuracy, efficiency).
  • Analyze agent outputs and behaviors to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
  • Conduct bias detection and mitigation, perform fairness assessments, and ensure transparency in AI systems.
  • Provide actionable feedback to junior data scientists and AI engineers to enhance agent performance.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Design, and Technology partners to drive use-case development and deployment.
  • Assess and report on the performance, effectiveness, and implications of AI agents and systems.
  • Communicate complex findings, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Uphold the highest standards of data integrity, security, and compliance with internal and external regulations.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Advanced degree (PhD or MSc) in a scientific field (Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, etc.) with 8+ years of experience in AI/ML.
  • Proven experience leading data science teams and delivering AI/ML solutions in a business context. Expertise in statistical analysis, pattern identification, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Deep understanding of AI/ML model evaluation, including metrics, methodologies, and calibration. Hands-on experience with bias detection and mitigation techniques.
  • Experience working with Gen AI technologies and frameworks. Knowledge of ethical AI principles: bias, fairness, transparency, and accountability. Familiarity with agentic AI architectures and prompt engineering. Proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Proficiency in designing and executing testing protocols for agent behavior and system validation.
  • Exceptional communication and reporting skills, with the ability to convey complex findings and risks clearly.
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Experience working within cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Financial services industry experience preferred.
  • Experience in risk assessment, particularly in identifying and addressing ethical risks in AI systems.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance protocols related to AI.
