As a Vice President in the Emerging Markets and Asia Pacific (EMAP) Equity Team, you will have significant interaction with groups including the Equity Dealing team, Investment Directors, Guideline Management teams, Cash Management, Margining/Operations team, and other implementation/execution professionals. You will either mirror existing portfolio in other regions based on own cash position or work closely with the portfolio managers to effectively execute trades and manage exposures across the book of business.

You will become familiar with the fund strategies and an expert in the portfolio implementation system. Your role requires following trade ideas through from the point a portfolio manager selects a stock to the conclusion of the trade and dealing with subsequent cash and operational requirements. Additionally, you could be expected to play an important role in the operational set-up and launch of any new products on the desk.

Job responsibilities:

  • Manage multi-portfolios/accounts.
  • Implement overseas funds advisory model/instruction to onshore portfolios.
  • Develop and communicate within the Emerging Markets and Asia Pacific (EMAP) team.
  • Prepare documentation related to portfolio investment decisions.
  • Handle cash management, including FX hedging policies.
  • Monitor portfolios for compliance with guidelines and restrictions.
  • Conduct pre-trade compliance checks and input trades onto Spectrum PI.
  • Produce ad hoc/daily/weekly/monthly reports for TW local PM.
  • Provide input/suggestions for projects to improve desk operations efficiency, and manage ad-hoc projects to streamline and improve the accuracy and efficiency of the implementation process.
  • Build relationships with departments to resolve problems/queries efficiently.
  • Assist in setting up new accounts/funds with dummy cash injection, new securities/IPOs/Placings in Spectrum PI for trading.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Holder of a relevant University bachelor's degree and at least one of Senior broker/SITICA license.
  • Minimum of 2 years of overseas fund portfolio management working experience.
  • High level of numeracy, attention to detail, and risk awareness with a control-oriented mind-set.
  • Assertive with strong communication skills and a flexible attitude in supporting people based in different time zones.
  • Highly focused, maintaining a consistently high level of concentration and attention to detail, able to work accurately under pressure, within tight deadlines, and effectively prioritize workflow.
  • Pro-active approach to work to prevent problems occurring, with a questioning nature that challenges anomalous figures or procedures.
  • Native Mandarin fluency and written and verbal fluency in English.
  • Willing to accept high responsibility and driven to achieve excellence.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Knowledge of ETF products and related AP order process
  • Knowledge of the Back-Office functions and the life cycle of an equity trade
  • Preferably to advanced Excel level, VBA understanding
