Janssen Research & Development Pharmaceutical Research & Development, L.L.C., a member of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies, is recruiting for Project Management Organization (PMO) Co-ops to be based in NJ or PA(July - December 2014).
Janssen Research & Development, L.L.C. develops treatments that improve the health and lifestyles of people worldwide. Research and development areas encompass novel targets in neurologic disorders, gastroenterology, oncology, infectious disease, diabetes, hematology, metabolic disorders, immunologic disorders, and reproductive medicine.
The PMO utilizes different project management roles to support R&D in a multitude of functional teams throughout the organization at the strategic team level, at the tactical operational team level and in support of specific functions within the company. The candidate will work closely with a project manager from one specific area of the PMO to assist in the oversight of activities from across various R&D functions, including, but not limited to, assisting in strategic business planning and portfolio optimization, providing integrated regulatory plans and managing regulatory activities. In addition, the candidate will:
Support process improvement initiatives for integrated business reporting and analysis
Perform validation checks from source data
Track technical and business issues for reporting
Integrate information for Senior Leadership review and decision making regarding assets in the Product Portfolio
Develop new and/or enhanced methodologies for grouping information for crucial business insights
Understand regulatory processes and requirements for heath authority filings for approval or help develop global submission plans
Leverage product development plans to create Gantt charts or Excel spreadsheets with timelines and tasks
Assess enterprise wide resource utilization for capacity management and optimization
In order to be eligible for this position, you must be currently enrolled in an accredited college throughout the duration of the co-op working towards a Bachelor's, Master's, PharmD or PhD in the life sciences, computer science, engineering, business administration, mathematics or finance. The candidate must have completed a minimum of 2 years at an accredited university by the start of the co-op session. Student must be availablefrom January to July 2015 and have the ability to work full-time during the session.
The candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills, be innovative and creative and be able to work independently or within a cross functional team. The candidate must be able to organize information and communicate results to senior leaders. Experience working in Excel and analyzing data is essential. Previous pharmaceutical Co-op experience is preferred, but not required.
Students must be able to provide their own transportation to/from their work location. Local travel may be required. Students must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require future sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g. H1-B status) now or in the future.
