  • Develop novel future system concepts to enhance the Command and Control (C2) of the space control mission
  • Identify and conduct the analysis required to influence system design and assess system performance
  • Perform prototype development and software integration

You'll meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

  • Possess a bachelor of science degree in mathematics, aerospace, engineering, computer science, physics, or a related field
  • Have five or more years of experience in a technical position working on space systems engineering, system definition, design and development, system architecture, simulation and/or data analysis
  • Have working knowledge of algorithm development in tracking, data fusion, orbital dynamics, and analysis using a scientific programming language such as MATLAB, C , Java, or Python
  • Are comfortable and effective in communicating technical topics to peer and program management audiences
  • Are able to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain a Top Secret SCI level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you...

  • Possess a master of science or doctor of philosophy degree in mathematics, engineering, computer science, physics, or a related field
  • Have 5 or more years of experience in a technical position, with experience leading a team of engineers and/or scientists, with demonstrated results
  • Have experience working with government programs in support of Air Force Space Command, and/or Missile Defense Agency
  • Are comfortable and effective in communicating technical topics at all levels - to include peers, executive level management, and senior government leaders

Base pay will take into account the selected candidate's knowledge, experience, skill and/or abilities with consideration for internal parity. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance. APL provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement plans, paid time off, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, flexible spending accounts, part-time study and training and development. Base pay range for this role: Technical Senior Professional Staff I: $95K - $170K; Technical Senior Professional Staff II: $100K - $225K
