Sr. Classified Network Engineer/Architect
THIS POSITION REQUIRES A DoD CLEARANCE.
Provide technical leadership in the support of enterprise classified networks. Function in the role of Senior Network Engineer/Architect responsible for infrastructure engineering, operations, and administration to include information, design, deployment, and integration. This role encompasses several classified networks spanning numerous classified computing facilities. The Network Engineer/Architect will lead activities for proactive monitoring, growth and capacity planning, network documentation and will work within technical teams to promote robust classified services.
1) Applies system analysis techniques to determine IT facilities, systems, networks and infrastructure requirements in order to design, build, test, maintain, and advance the IT architecture supporting classified operations. Includes adherence to all applicable DoD and APL IT requirements.
2) Configures, installs and maintains network switches, routers, firewalls and appliances following industry best practices. Meets with project manager to understand scope and priorities to deploy new technologies to meet program requirements. Provides technical guidance during planning and budgetary efforts. Lead team effort to write and document network specifications.
3) Responds to network outages, performance issues, and equipment failures during and after-hours. Trouble-shoots performance issues by applying best practice methodologies.
4) Functions as a team member to coordinate and implement network architecture changes and operational support, often after-hours. Facilitate discussions with sector IT staff to support sector classified facilities.

B. S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience with computer systems and networks, with a minimum of ten years' experience working with complex DoD classified network environments:
- Configuration, implementation and management of Cisco switches and routers in an enterprise network environment
- Networking subject matter expert in design, implementation, support and operations.
- Maintaining systems in accordance with applicable NISPOM/Industrial Security Standards/ODAA classified systems security practices and procedures.
- Solve problems and handle multiple simultaneous tasks with constantly changing priorities.
- Work well under pressure during major outages, cyber incident response and project deadlines.
- Communicate (verbal and written) with individuals of diverse technical and administrative backgrounds.
- Work effectively in a team environment.
Must hold Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification.
Familiarization with Arista EOS, Palo Alto firewalls. Experience with network management/monitoring solutions, e.g. Zenoss, SolarWinds, Splunk.
Special Working Conditions:
Candidate must hold a valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record. Available to work outside normal operating hours, i.e. early morning, evening, weekend support in order to implement network projects and/or maintenance. Capable of lifting up to 50lbs. Work in closed areas.
Top Secret Clearance is required. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for an SSBI and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information. Preference for current SSBI. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
