Job Summary: The Electro-Optical/Infrared Seekers & Sensor Systems Group (A1F) of the Air and Missile Defense Sector (AMDS) is seeking an individual to assist in efficient handling of large volumes of telemetered data and help evolve current end-to-end processing capabilities for a variety of current and future applications, including missile flight tests, drones, and other platforms. A strong candidate would use their knowledge of software, hardware and image/signal processing to process data streams and maximize the value of telemetry; develop advanced software tools that can be combined with current capabilities to evaluate and improve telemetry quality; and modify these technologies to meet future needs.
(1) Assist in developing a suite of software tools for the pre-processing of telemetered data from a variety of target instrumentation sensors to enable high quality downstream data extraction and use.
(2) Support field test activities for telemetry data/image collection, processing and reporting.
(3) Documentation and presentation of analyzed data.
(4) Assist in development/deployment of capabilities for new DoD applications.

B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent. At least two years of experience with demonstrated software development skills in a relevant computer programming language (such as C ). Understanding the trade-offs between hardware and software. Excellent communication and teaming skills. Motivated self-starter and independent learner with strong problem solving abilities. Active SECRET or higher clearance or ability to obtain an interim Secret.
M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent. At least one year of experience with demonstrated software development skills in a relevant computer programming language (such as C ), with experience in lower-level, embedded programming methods. Experience with image processing algorithms. Hands-on experience developing control/acquisition software for optical systems with a keen understanding of the associated pointing and latency requirements. Experience with porting prototype code (such as MATLAB) to more efficient programming environments. Experience with GP/GPU and graphics software development. Demonstrated ability to envision and create novel solutions to technical challenges involving optical sensors and systems.
Special Working Conditions: Travel (25%) to field test sites including Hawaii, sometimes lasting 3-4 weeks at a time. Travel to support occasional meeting and reviews at DoD and contractor facilities.
Security: Applicant selected will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
