Senior National Security Analyst - Regional Expert

•Applying social or political science methodologies to tactical, operational, and strategic national security challenges

•Regional analysis focusing on: China, Russia, North Korea, Iran, or areas home to violent extremist organizations
•Linguistic strength in Chinese, Russian, Korean, Persian, or Arabic
•Expertise in other regions and languages relevant to the national security endeavor

We are seeking dedicated individuals to help us conduct high-impact analyses that address critical national security challenges. Our team weaves together a broad array of political, social, economic, legal, military, and technical information to contribute insights into the perspectives and capabilities of other countries and organizations. As a Senior National Security Analyst in the Counterforce Analysis section...
•Your primary responsibility will be to lead and conduct analysis of: adversary and partner technical capabilities and strategic perspectives; relevant U.S. doctrinal, policy, organizational, training, logistical, or command, control, and communications considerations; and other topics of concern to senior decision makers, all in areas related to national security, military, homeland defense, or related interagency operations.
•You will lead internal study efforts related to novel national security topics requiring development of new analytic approaches and/or technical/operational solutions
•You'll develop analysis plans, identify effectiveness measures and data requirements, craft analytic approaches, interpret results, and document and communicate results to sponsors
•You will develop strategies for future studies and analysis throughout the Laboratory through engagement with current and potential sponsors and subject matter experts within the national security domain
You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...
•Have a Master's degree in a social science, political science, physical science, mathematics, operations research, engineering, or a related discipline
•Have domain or linguistic expertise in a region or language relevant to the U.S. national security effort
•Have experience supporting the DoD or U.S. government in applying a variety of analytic techniques to address operational or strategic issues
•Have superb oral and written communications skills, including the ability to articulate complex issues to senior decision makers
•Are able to obtain a TS/SCI level security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

•Have a PhD in a social science, political science, physical science, mathematics, operations research, engineering, or a related discipline, or a JD
•Have demonstrated leadership in studies and analysis experience with a UARC, FFRDC or equivalent
•Have a current TS/SCI clearance.
