Senior Instrument System Engineer

Introduction

The Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), a national leader in scientific research and development, located midway between Baltimore and Washington, DC is seeking a Senior Instrument System Engineer.

Job Duties:

  • Lead on proposal efforts, space instrument developments, and instrument group strategic initiatives.
  • Lead instrument developments.
  • Lead instrument proposal efforts.
  • Participate in SRI strategic initiatives.
  • Participate in review boards and Advanced Concept Engineering lab exercises.

Required Qualifications:

The candidate must have a BS or higher in engineering or physics or equivalent. He / she must have a minimum of 15 years experience in space instrument development with at least 5 years in a lead role.

Desired Qualifications:

The candidate should have an MS or higher in engineering or physics or equivalent. He / she should have a minimum of 20 years experience in space instrument development with at least 8 years in a lead role.

Security

Applicants selected will be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include US citizenship.
