Senior Cyber Operations Analyst
The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), a national leader in scientific research and development, located midway between Baltimore and Washington, DC is seeking a Senior Cyber Operations Analyst.
Help organizations to analyze, design, prototype, and assess security-related cyber architectures whose risk is measurable and tied to the performance of the higher level mission(s) that the cyber architectures help enable.
Duties (Listed in order of importance with the estimated amount of time spent at each task):
- Help organizations to analyze, design, prototype, and assess security-related cyber architectures whose risk is measurable and tied to the performance of the higher level mission(s) that the cyber architectures help enable. (70%)
- Document and communicate the results of cyber analyses in written and oral form to audiences at different experience/technical levels of expertise. (20%)
- Develop new concepts for analyzing mission-cyber assurance. (10%)

B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field. 10 years experience with military network systems architecture, design, and cyber defense. Good systems engineering skills and a working knowledge of computer and network architectures. Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to work both independently and on teams. Requires a Top Secret clearance.
M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field. 10 years experience with military systems architecture, design, and cyber defense. Familiarity with full life cycle system engineering process and/or applied research. Working knowledge of IO/IA techniques, network modeling/simulation, and evaluation of cyber architectures. Team leadership or project management skills or interest.
Special Working Conditions: Occasional travel required (<10%). Some work required in closed areas.
Security: Applicant selected will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
