QBO Group Administrator


The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), a national leader in scientific research and development, is located midway between Baltimore and Washington, DC is seeking a Group Administrator.

Job Summary:

Provide administrative support to the Security and IT Services Group (QBO). Performs a broad range of support activities for group management and staff around communication, daily organization, and operational functions of the group.

Duties (Listed in order of importance with the estimated amount of time spent on each task):

  • Provide administrative support to group management including, but not limited to, calendar and schedule management, coordination of new staff on-boarding, organization and maintenance of group documents and SharePoint presence, assistance with group procurements and supplies, and assistance with other operational functions to support the group and staff (34%)
  • Serve as the Group’s property administrator including the maintenance and tracking of IT equipment in facilities and other group property and supporting property inventories (33%)
  • Serve as a back-up to support AOS conference rooms and meetings (classified and unclassified) including preparation and display of slide presentations and providing or coordinating audio visual support (33%)

Required Qualifications:

Bachelors degree, or equivalent years of practical experience in a related field through business internships or similar opportunities. Strong computer skills using Microsoft office products. Strong ability to work with others. Ability to identify and solve administrative issues independently and collaboratively. Excellent organizational skills including demonstrated ability to prioritize concurrent tasks, track, follow-thru, and meet deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Desired Qualifications:

Knowledge and experience of APL operations; Comprehensive knowledge of APL policies and procedures; Knowledge of Asymmetric Operations Sector operations.
