As an Experimental Quantum Physicist at APL you will...
- Propose and lead independent research projects focus on novel quantum devices, controls, or characterization techniques.
- Work collaboratively with other APL staff to identify emerging challenges with quantum solutions.
- Support ongoing programs in quantum information science by making immediate contributions to efforts that are looking to implement quantum characterization, control, and mitigation strategies in superconducting qubit systems.
You meet our minimum qualifications if you...
- Have a PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Have at least 2 years of post-doctoral (or equivalent) experimental experience with qubit systems.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Have a proven record of research accomplishments and publications in the field of quantum science.
- Are willing to occasionally travel to sponsor sites, conferences and workshops.
- Are able to obtain TS/SCI poly level security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
- Have significant experience modeling multi-level, multi-qubit, and/or light-matter interactions.
- Have a record of significant contributions on projects pursuing highly sophisticated objectives.
- Have experience collaborating closely with theorists.
- Hold an active TS/SCI poly security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
