Enterprise Systems Security Engineer
The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), a national leader in scientific research and development, located midway between Baltimore and Washington, DC is seeking a Enterprise Systems Security Engineer.
Job Summary: Perform and support enterprise system security assessments to include cyber threat assessment, risk analysis and mitigation, and system architecture and design, and contribute to the development of innovative enterprise defenses.
Duties (Listed in order of importance with the estimated amount of time spent at each task):
1. Lead projects as a Project Manager and/or Technical Lead to develop robust solutions as part of a defensive system for operational Enterprise networks. (25%)
2. Utilize systems engineering concepts and methods to examine existing or emerging enterprise IT systems, identify deficiencies and needed changes, and develop innovative concepts for the creation of solutions/systems to improve enterprise defenses. (25%)
3. Apply sound security engineering principles to develop resilient, robust enterprise defense systems. Mature advanced defense concepts through the creation of proof of concept solutions, experimentation, modeling and simulation techniques, and pilot deployments in operational networks. (25%)
4. Work collaboratively with researches and scientists to understand current threats, uncover gaps in enterprise security solutions, and identify opportunities for the creation of new approaches to defend enterprise systems. (25%)

Required Qualifications: BS CS, CE, EE or related field with 7 years of experience. Must have experience with securing enterprise systems, evaluating cyber security threats, designing/deploying operational networks, and knowledge of enterprise security technologies and products. Position requires an active TS clearance.
Desired Qualifications: MS CS, CE, EE or related field with 10 years of experience. Strong background in computer/network security concepts and technologies, including extensive knowledge of enterprise security operations and computer network vulnerabilities and exploits. Active TS/SCI clearance.
Special Working Conditions: Local travel as needed.
Security: Applicant selected will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
