Job Description

Primary function of the position:

As Import-Export Coordinator (gn) you will take over the processing of incoming- and outgoing goods deliveries and ensure compliance with customs and foreign trade regulations. As the hub between customer and service provider, you ensure a smooth flow of communication and information. In the event of disruptions, you ensure quick solutions and, in the event of complaints, the best solutions. In your daily work, you scrutinize procedures and processes and consistently implement improvements. You collaborate in projects or lead them yourself.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Independent order processing and monitoring of the shipment of goods on time and in the correct manner
  • Communication with suppliers, customers and transport companies and scheduling/monitoring of shipments
  • Invoice control and review of customs duty notices
  • Import processing (closing T1, master data management, customs application, month-end closing)
  • Contact person for the development department, planning, purchasing, quality, and warehouse for any questions and issues regarding deliveries
  • Responsible communication with customs authorities
  • Processing of the required customs documents and documentation as well as the necessary certifications, certificates of origin as well as goods tariff classification and archiving
  • Independent maintenance and creation of KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)
  • Dealing with unexpected problems during import
  • Collaboration in optimizing and implementing process workflows in collaboration with interface departments
  • Active participation in logistics projects
  • Acting as a contact person and coordinator during customs inspections

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • successfully completed commercial training with additional qualification in customs & foreign trade law
  • or a business degree and knowledge in customs & foreign trade
  • at least 5 years of work experience in the field of import and export processing and customs
  • careful, structured and independent way of working
  • confident handling of MS-Office programs and preferably profound knowledge of the ERP system SAP
  • good and professional communication in Englisch
  • flexibility and ability to work under pressure as well as team spirit and commitment
