The Opportunity:

The Senior Director, Programs within the Product and Technology organization is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing and managing the development, implementation, and evaluation of strategic programs and activities including product and feature development. This role ensures that programs and product initiatives align with the organization's mission, goals, and strategic plan, while meeting the highest standards of quality and effectiveness. The Senior Director, Programs will work collaboratively with senior leadership, program staff, and external stakeholders to drive innovation, growth, and impact across all program areas.

Essential Functions/Duties:

Leadership and Strategy:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for program development and growth in alignment with the organization's mission and goals, particularly within the Product and Technology organization.
  • Provide visionary leadership to the program teams, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to identify opportunities for program expansion and new initiatives.

Program Management:

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of all strategic programs and activities to ensure they meet objectives and deliver high impact, with a focus on integrating product and technology initiatives.
  • Ensure that program deliverables are on time, within budget, and of high quality.
  • Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and financial sustainability.

Product Management and Operations:

  • Understand customer needs and developer requirements to bring product features to market.
  • Work closely with data science to develop models based on customer and product needs.
  • Define and implement product processes for planning, road mapping, excellence checks, go to market, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with product managers, partners, and technology teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of product features.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including product managers, technology teams, sales and marketing, partners, and customers.
  • Represent the organization at external meetings, conferences, and events to promote program initiatives and secure support.

Evaluation and Reporting:

  • Develop and implement evaluation frameworks and KPIs to measure the effectiveness and impact of programs.
  • Prepare and present regular reports to senior leadership and partners on program performance and outcomes.
  • Use data and feedback to drive product and program improvements and innovation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in program management, preferably within a nonprofit, social service organization, or technology company.
  • Bachelors Degree in technology, business or similar
  • Proven ability to lead and manage complex programs and initiatives.
  • Strong strategic planning and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in budget management and financial oversight.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in understanding customer and partner needs and developer requirements.
  • Experience working with data science to develop models based on customer and product needs.
  • Ability to define and implement product processes for planning, road mapping, excellence checks, go to market, and reporting.
  • Commitment to the organization's mission and values.

  • Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers.
  • Physical Demands: This is largely a sedentary role. Physical requirements include occasional lifting/carrying of 5 pounds; visual acuity, speech and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment. Subject to sitting, standing, reaching, walking, twisting, and kneeling to perform the essential functions. Working conditions are primarily inside an office environment.
  • Compensation range is base salary of $163,500 - $240,000. The salary range information provided, reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual salary will be commensurate with skills, experience, certifications or licenses and other relevant factors. In addition, this role will be eligible to participate in either the annual performance bonus or commission program, determined by the nature of the position.
