Software Engineers conduct or participate in multidisciplinary research and collaborate with design, layout and/or hardware engineers in the design, development, and utilization of productivity enhancement layout tools and design rule checkers, electronic data processing systems software. Determines computer user needs, advises hardware designers on machine characteristics that affect software systems such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements, designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur. Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education, judgement and formal software process.
Software Development Engineer is responsible for the technical direction of a project. Develops complex SW for Intel platforms on Windows, Linux, Mac or Chrome OS. Makes high level design choices for the software structure, frameworks, protocols, and algorithms. Determines coding practices, development tools, and validation requirements. Performs path finding and surveys technologies. Interacts with multiple technologists in the company and within the industry as well as between developers and project managers to evaluate feasibility of requirements and determine priorities for development.
Candidate should have a B.E or Masters in Electronics or Computer Science with 4+ years of work experience and well versed with standard Software Methodologies like software design, implementation, software product life cycle. Very proficient C and C++ design knowledge required with a very good understanding of the platform/system with good communication skills. Good understanding and proficient in OS Internals. Proficient in debugging complex system SW problems
