Job Description
This is a commission-based role in Connectivity Sales within DCG Sales.
The Solutions Specialist role is a key factor in the growth, and widespread industry adoption, of Intel silicon photonics products.
This individual will be a primary technical interface to China customers and will work closely with PLM, R/D, Operation teams and field sales on both pre- and post-sales customer engagements in order to achieve key design wins.
This individual should have understanding of the business use case and technical merits of a solution and co-owning relationships with customer decision-makers to influence the customers purchasing decision.
Responsibilities include:
First-level technical response and debug during customer validation, qualification, and beyond, including replicating customer issues in the lab
Developing a deep understanding of customer applications and use cases, analyzing customer requirement gaps, defining customer-specific documents, such as EEPROM and configurations for R/D and Operations teams to ensure the final products will meet the customer expectations.
Giving product demonstrations and discussing key technical specifications with customers
Generating and providing design collateral (application notes, errata, design guidelines, etc.)
Working closely with R/D engineering teams to develop deep and detailed understanding of SPPD optical products, components, and subcomponents
Working with PLM and Operations teams to prepare early product samples to enable customer engagement
Training customers and field sales and applications teams on silicon photonics technology and products
Collecting customer requirements back into the business unit for future product planning.
Collecting competitive intelligence and analyzing competitor technical capabilities and positioning
Moderate travel required


The ideal candidate should have in-depth knowledge of optical transceiver market, design, specifications, and system applications combined with strong Sales and communication skills in English and Mandarin (both written and verbal).
The individual must understand optical interconnect fundamentals, high speed circuit design, and I2C protocol, and should be able to work with customers to debug system performance related issues. The candidate should have a good knowledge of Ethernet, optical transceiver MSA, as well as related IEEE standards. Prior experience with 100G/400G optical transceiver is highly desired. Knowledge of data center and networking architecture, high-speed silicon and switch ASICs is also a plus.
The candidate must be a self-starter and have experience and aptitude working across functional teams, be a good team player and passion to work within a sales environment.

Other requirements:
-BS, MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Electrical/Computer Engineering
-Minimum of 5 years of experience with high-speed design, testing, and applications. Required skills/experience:
-5 years or more direct, hands-on experience designing, validating, or providing applications engineering support for high-speed (100Gbps and above) optical transceivers
-Analog/RF design and/or validation experience up to 25Gbps, 50G PAM4
-Optical test equipment and methodology for testing key high-speed and DC optical parameters
-At least 3 years in a customer-facing role. Optical transceiver applications engineering experience desired.
