Senior Director of the Quartus Prime Compiler Group

As the Senior Director of the Quartus Prime Compiler Group you will lead the development of state-of-the-art FPGA EDA Design Software for the Programmable Software Engineering group at Intel. The software group is part of the larger Custom Logic Engineering (CLE) organization responsible for all aspects of software engineering delivering the capability of Intel FPGA technology to customers and enabling a smart and connected world.
The Quartus Prime Compiler team works on some of the most computationally difficult algorithmic problems in the world. You will work with some of the industry's most accomplished technologists and lead a talented group of technical directors, managers, and engineers to help deliver best-in-class tools that power the industry's most advanced semiconductors. The team of over one hundred engineers is based in San Jose, Toronto, and Malaysia.
In this role, the successful candidate will: help define a technical roadmap that produces best-in-class EDA technologies, resource and direct activities in the Engineering function to meet schedules, standards and cost; interact directly with customers and other PSG organizations to understand emerging product needs; cultivate and reinforce appropriate group values, norms and behaviors; identify and analyze problems, plans, tasks, and solutions; establish and oversee standards of excellence for group performance including measurable goals and defined metrics; provide guidance on employee development, performance, and productivity issues; use judgment on a variety of problems requiring deviation from standard practices.
The successful candidate will also direct the software systems development function, including the design, development, troubleshooting, and debugging of software programs for software enhancements and new products. Oversees the development of software and software tools used for design, infrastructure, and platforms, including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, and databases. Determines hardware compatibility and/or hardware design. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Demonstrated strengths in stakeholder management, communication skills and inspirational leadership. Able to manage a variety of complex functions and teams supporting a diverse set of software technologies. Role-models sound judgment in planning and decision-making.
Minimum of 15 years' experience, with advanced and relevant degrees a plus10 years experience across a breadth of EDA software engineering and management including synthesis, place and route, timing analysis and device modeling for FPGA or ASIC is highly desired.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in leading and motivating a large software organization to successful execution against measurable goals. .
