Job Description
IAGS System Firmware Products ("SFP") group is responsible for delivering state-of-the art system firmware products, engineering and technology for Intel platforms to enable Intel's achievement of its strategic objectives while delighting our customers. We mainly develop platform BIOS, reference code and related documentation for Intel silicon products such as next generation chipsets and processors. We are responsible for authoring BIOS specifications, creating chipset reference code and developing / supporting platform BIOS for Intel's CPUs and chipsets. As a Senior Memory Reference Code Engineer, expectation is to have good knowledge/ working experience in memory related technologies & Memory Reference Code Development. Most of our development has moved into pre-silicon, so we need to work closely with silicon design and validation teams to test our firmware before Silicon Power ON. This is a key focus for us, so experience in any part of silicon design and pre-silicon validation will be helpful. In post silicon, should be able to work with analog validation partners to verify all our training algorithms. A deep knowledge of the Jedec specifications and how all the training steps work is required so that you can contribute to the collaborative debug. Working as a team is critical to success, as we work systematically through the problems.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering or related discipline with 6 years of relevant industry experience in System BIOS\Firmware development, OR a Master of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related with 4 years of relevant industry experience in System BIOS\Firmware development. You should have the years' experience required in the following areas: C coding skills and/or experience Assembly language skills and/or experience Software (S/W) architecture, design and debugging skills Technical knowledge in PnP, Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI), Extensible Firmware Interface (EFI), and Advanced Configuration Power Interface (ACPI) Working knowledge in the software engineering development process, project life cycle, PC BIOS architecture, and PC operating systems Experience of Memory controller or Memory PHY and DDR memory protocols Experience with pre-silicon simulation verification or post-silicon memory subsystem verification Preferred Qualifications: UEFI Core BIOS for IA Silicon & Product enabling. Tiano and EDK-II architecture on IA Implementation and ability to influence changes into industry specifications System BIOS Flow design and knowledge of OS dependencies on System Firmware Clear understanding of x86 architecture and bus protocols such as PCIE, PSS, LPC, LPSS, Audio, SATA, USB, and DMI Familiarity with ITP and logic analyzers Knowledge of Windows OS and Linux kernel a plus Excellent verbal and written communication skills Good project management skills Ability to work with a broad peer group Highly motivated with a strong work ethic Ability to work independently & deal with ambiguity in defining activities and direction
