The Programmable Solutions Group within Intel delivers industry-leading custom logic solutions. You can find our technology everywhere: in satellites providing high-speed internet; in neural networks providing defect screening on the factory floor; and managing virtualized storage, compute, and networking in datacenters.

We are seeking a High-Speed IO Specialist FAE to join our sales team in the San Jose, CA area.

As a Field Applications Engineer, you will be responsible for driving adoption of Intel FPGA transceiver technology among major customers in the San Jose area. You will assist customers in architecting high-speed interconnect around our FPGAs.

  • Developing and executing territory, account, and opportunity plans as part of a sales team
  • Engaging with customers' system architects and key decision makers, to understand their system interconnect requirements, influence their design choices, and provide creative solutions to their problems
  • Creating feasibility studies and sample designs to demonstrate Intel FPGA's suitability for customer interconnect requirements
  • Working effectively in teams with individuals from varied communities and cultures
  • Performing demonstrations and proofs of concept in customer meetings and seminars
  • Providing "best practices" and other consultation-level guidance to help customers have the best possible design experience
  • Aligning Intel's interconnect-related IP and silicon road maps with our customers' long-term requirements

Qualifications

You must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent

- Willingness to travel (roughly once per month within the Southwestern United States)

- Minimum 3 years of experience with FPGAs and SERDES design or XCVRs or transceivers or protocols like PCIe or Ethernet or XCVR experience

Preferred Qualifications:

- 3+ years of experience in one or more of the following:

• Protocols such as PCIe, JESD, and Ethernet ranging from 10G to 400G

• Board bring-up, using test equipment such as high-speed scopes and protocol analyzers

• FPGA or ASIC design experience

- 1+ years of experience with:

• Sales or marketing

• High-speed board design, including signal integrity simulation using Hyperlynx or similar tools

• System-level architecture experience

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, California: $147,750.00-$236,090.00
*Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience

Working Model

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
