Position Summary:

The Director of Curriculum will oversee the creation and management of IIN's core product, including development and management of core curriculum, student experience, and all decisions around supplemental educational and content matters. This position will manage curriculum developers, associates, and managers working on the Health Coach Training Program (HCTP). In addition, the Director of Curriculum will work with other departments to improve internal communication, technology workflows, and student communication. 

As the Director of Curriculum (HCTP), you will:

  • Oversee the development and enhancement of HCTP curriculum that aligns with IIN mission, brand, key priorities, and core philosophies
  • Execute leadership decisions regarding curriculum, education technology, and student experience initiatives
  • Provide feedback to department employees and work with content team to hire and onboard new staff members
  • Work closely with the Vice President of Content, Director of Curriculum (specialty courses), and Director of Curriculum (advanced courses) on department prioritization, team communication, and relevant projects
  • Oversee strategic planning regarding curriculum, education technology, student experience, and video production
  • Support the Project Manager in decisions within operations for new and existing content for HCTP, including process and timeline
  • Prioritize initiatives for content, design, and media teams when deadlines overlap
  • Liaison with other departments as well as outside consultants for all HCTP initiatives
  • Work with chief academic officer to ensure HCTP curriculum complies with state and federal education laws
  • Oversee curriculum-related communication with students, including ZenDesk inquiries, emails, and Facebook posts
  • Oversee education-related expenses; work with the Vice President of Content to develop and monitor the Education budget
  • Support visiting teacher manager in communication with visiting teachers
  • Effectively manage a high-volume workflow with quick turnarounds


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Strong background in health and wellness with proficiency in coaching, nutrition, primary food (lifestyle), and business
  • Strong background in online curriculum development
  • Adult education experience
  • Preferred: Health Coach Training Program graduate, Immersion or Advanced Business Course graduate
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Project management experience
  • People management experience
  • Preferred: Negotiation and mediation experience
  • Preferred: Experience with contracts and contract negotiation
  • Ability to work with limited resources
  • Excellent communication skills
  • 2+ years curriculum development experience
  • 2+ years health or life-coaching experience
  • Excellent computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Preferred: Experience with JIRA and/or Zendesk
  • Excellent prioritization and critical thinking skills
  • Macro, linear, and lateral thinking abilities
  • Positive attitude
  • Excellent time management skills with ability to meet deadlines
  • Works well both independently and with a team
  • Can give and receive constructive feedback
  • Takes initiative to suggest solutions to problems
  • Flexible and able to adapt
