Our North American Commercial Operations, as well as our Headquarters and Technology Center for Hemostasis and Acute Care Diagnostics, are based in Bedford, MA.  Our Headquarters and Technology Center for Autoimmunity Diagnostics is based in San Diego, CA.  Additionally, our Technology Center for Hemostasis and Blood Gas Reagents is in Orangeburg, NY, and our Technology Center for Whole Blood Hemostasis is in San Diego, CA.

 

Position Summary: 

 

The Senior Software Engineer in Test as part of the Digital Factory is responsible for the planning, designing, developing frameworks and procedures to automate testing on our clinical decision support solutions and to carry out all testing activities during the product life cycle, including manual testing as neesed, and regression.  He/she is also responsible to assure test coverage and traceability.  The Staff Software Engineer in Test will work in a diverse team of Software Engineers and the core leadership team in an agile development environment creating a scalable plan for the future of test automation supporting multiple releases.  This position plays a cricital role in laying the foundation for the System Testing function, shaping the development of Werfen digital products for years to come

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities

Essential Functions:

  • Under mimimal supervision, design and develop test framework/tools to achieve the efficiency and productivity to ensure functionality, reliability, performance, scalability of cloud
  • Develop automation tools/web application for busines need using angular
  • Research the new tools in the market which can fit for our business need and full fill our stakeholder's requirement
  • Using a wide range of cutting-edge technology to innovate while testing/developing
  • Design scalable infrastructure for test execution
  • Explore new ways to expedite testing life cycle by bringing in different frameworks
  • Collaborates with other squad members to implement user stories, write tests, and continuously deliver new/improved product functionality
  • Communicates with different teams to resolve technical dependencies during imple­ mentation
  • Define and maintain traceability metrics to assure full test coverage
  • Carry out testing activities complementary to automatic testing, such as SW System Test and Regression
  • May report activities and results

Networking/Key Relationships:

  • Will interface on a regular basis with groups across the organization as needed (within the Digital Solutions Team, R&D, Clinical Software, and others).

Qualifications

Minimum Knowledge & Experience Required for the Position:

  • Bachelor's Degree plus a minimum of 5-10 years related experience or Master's De­ gree plus 3-5 years of related experience or waiver based on experience
  • Experience in Software Medical Devices development that follows ISO 13485, IEC 62304 / 21 CFR Part 820.30 highly desired

Skills & Capabilities:

 

Domain Expertise

  • Demonstrated coding and testing experience, specifically in the following technolo­gies:
    • Java: Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring MVC, REST/JSON, Swagger, Spring Data and Microservices architecture.  Testing frameworks as Junit & REST Assured.
    • Angular v8 & higher: RXJS, Redux, Lifecyle & CLI. Proficiency in HTML and CSS including Sass and Testing frameworks as Karma & WebDrive­ rIO.
    • DevOps concepts and tools: BitBucket, Artifactory, Docker, Kubernetes, IaaS/PaaS technologies, etc.)
    • Testing tracking and reporting tools.
  • Experience in integrating and testing front-end and back-end frameworks.
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming using SOLID design principles and design.
  • Ability to write effective unit, integration, and API tests that are automated and inte- grated into CICD pipeline.
  • Experience with database systems, such as SQL and NoSQL stores.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure automation and provisioning tools.
  • Must have actual experience working with cloud infrastructure services, coding expe­ rience on building and test automation of cloud microservices.
  • Must have knowledge and experience in test techniques at each stage of the SW Life Cycle.
  • Must have experience with SAAS-based automation framework development.

Agile/Digital Experience

  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies
  • Experience as a Developer on a cross-functional agile team preferred

  • Understand all activities in the System Testing chapter and have ability to participate in any team when needed
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical con­ cepts and align the organization on decisions
  • Sound problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly process complex information and present it clearly and simply
