Position Summary:

Assists the Supervisor/Team Leader in assuring that procedures are adhered to while meeting the daily plan. Performs the principal operational duties within the assigned area.

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities: 

  • Performs the principal duties and responsibilities of the department, including assembly and test.
  • Ensures all personnel are following all safety guidelines, including wearing designated PPE.
  • Ensures all personnel in the area are always in compliance with all documentation.
  • Assigns duties in order to meet the production schedule.
  • Ensures that inspections are completed accurately and timely, in accordance with procedures.
  • Ensures production is reported accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Ensures in-process defects and scrap are reported in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Ensures gages are in calibration at all times.
  • Ensures material availability for the duration of the shift and for the start of the next shift.
  • Ensures employees are properly trained and audited for quality of work.
  • Responds to problems that arise in the area and either resolve them, or engage the supervisor, engineer and/or technician to resolve it.
  • Maintains a neat and organized area; Uses 5S to improve and standardize the area

Skills & Capabilities:

  • Demonstrates understanding of typical written and verbal manufacturing instructions.

Qualifications

Min Knowledge & Experience required for the position:

  • External hire: 2 to 5 years applicable experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Internal promotion: 1 year's satisfactory performance in a related Manufacturing/QC role (or equivalent). Capable of performing at least 80% of the tasks in the area . High School degree or equivalent education.
