Our North American Commercial Operations, as well as our Headquarters and Technology Center for Hemostasis and Acute Care Diagnostics, are based in Bedford, MA.  Our Headquarters and Technology Center for Autoimmunity Diagnostics is based in San Diego, CA.

 

This program focuses on hiring high potential candidates into strategic roles, with an aim to prepare them to be future leaders within the organization, through a targeted rotational learning experience.

 

Position Summary

Under direction of a project manager, plan and manage small product development projects with a multi-functional development team.  The position requires enthusiastic leadership skills in a highly technical medical instrument product development environment.  The individual is required to lead strong technical engineers and scientists to achieve project goals ranging from technical feasibility through product verification and launch. The position requires regular interaction with project team members and upper management.

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities

Essential Functions:

  • Technical and Project Leadership: Provide technical and team leadership to a project team, including planning, scheduling, and technical leadership within the project area.  Drive the integration of activities between functions.
  • Project Planning and Scheduling: Responsible for project planning and scheduling utilizing deliverable milestone methods and critical path scheduling and developing task and project estimates. 
  • Project Execution and Control: Responsible for conducting regular project team status meetings and reviews.  Ensures deliverables are completed and documented.   
  • Problem Solving Leadership: Responsible for coordination of project resources to identify the root cause of project issues, and develop and manage a plan to fix, test, and implement an appropriate solution through completion.
  • Risk Management: Responsible for ensuring project risks, both technical risks and management risks, are identified and appropriate risk mitigation plans are developed and executed.  Regularly assess and report the status of overall project risk.
  • Design Control: Creates and maintains file to current phase ensuring accuracy
  • Communication: Responsible for communication within project team and to project management and upper management
  • Conflict Resolution: Able to resolve project team conflict through the application of good listening skills and negotiating skills.  Able to remove oneself from the problem.  Fosters creative, professional climate that will maximize the contributions of the technical staff.
  • Vendor Management: Coordinates with vendors and outside service suppliers to ensure project deliverables are completed correctly and on time or that services are provided in accordance with the plan.  

 

Secondary Functions:

  • Additional duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Knowledge & Experience required for the position:

  • Education: BS in STEM field (engineering, chemistry, physics, etc.) is required
  • Proficiency in Excel for data analysis and PowerPoint for presentations
    • Language: Fluency in English required. Multi-lingual a plus.

Travel Requirements:

  • < 5% of time
