Job Description: Insomniac Games is looking for a super intern to work within our gameplay programming department this summer. We are looking for a student who has a proven track record of creating fun gameplay code, and who is ready to take their skills to the next level. You’ll be part of a team of skilled programmers who have created some of the best gameplay out there!
Duties for the Gameplay Internships include: working on breakable and interactive objects, AI polish, stats, bonus features, trophies, visual effects, and of course the ever popular bug tracking and fixing. Interns will be mentored by senior members of the Programming team and have the opportunity to create great connections within the industry.
Candidates must be full-time students enrolled at a college or university, working towards a BS/BSE in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. We will also consider Physics or Math majors with computer programming experience. Master’s or PhD candidates may also apply for this internship. Candidates must be able to program in C++. An ideal intern is energetic, self-motivated, creative, and responsible, has a passion for video games and programming and is willing to work hard.
Students must be available to intern 5 days per week- with regular hours that they can dedicate to work here at the studio. This is a paid internship. Duration of internship is flexible, but we expect at least 8 weeks from our interns. This internship is based in Burbank California, and relocation reimbursements or housing stipends are not available for this position.
