Talent Acquisition Specialist

Summary

Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the Talent Acquisition Specialist facilitates the effective staffing of a corporate or plant positions by assessing the staffing needs, identifying and recruiting talented individuals to fill those needs and managing the company's employment brand.

The Talent Acquisition Specialist typically works in conjunction with the managers of the function or department for which they are hiring and managing external recruitment agencies.

Essential Function/Duties and Responsibilities

  • To develop and refine a Road Map for Talent Acquisition and Retention.
  • Work closely with hiring managers to ensure an adequate understanding of the needs of the manager and the requirements and expectations of the job.
  • Coach hiring managers in interviewing techniques.
  • Source and recruit candidates using a variety of outlets, including but not limited to, job postings, social media, job fairs, colleges and trade schools. Seek out and recommend creative new ways of sourcing talent.
  • Review resumes, pre-screen prospective employees, schedule interviews, and assess applicants in conjunction with the hiring manager.
  • Assist with onboarding / orientation for new employees.

  • This position has access to important and extremely sensitive reports, records, plans, strategies and programs of the organization, where the utmost integrity is required to safeguard the organization from breach of employee confidentiality and potential liability exposure.
Education and/or Experience - Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university and 2-4 years related experience and/or training in recruitment. Industry specific knowledge, knowledge of the labor market and sources, demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, and prior experience working with an Applicant Tracking System (ATS).

Skills / Competencies - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships. Motivated and ambitious, results-driven. Organizational skills required.
