Your role
We are seeking a Senior Consultant to lead a cross-functional retail engineering squad focused on Cegid Y2 (Yourcegid Retail Y2) and modern Retail POS ecosystems. You will drive solution design, hands-on development, and end-to-end delivery across store systems, omnichannel integrations, and retail operations. As the Retail Team Lead, you'll own the technical roadmap, mentor engineers, uphold engineering excellence, and run Incident & Problem Management with measurable service reliability. Your toolkit includes deep Y2 functional/technical knowledge, POS integration patterns, and hands-on coding to build, extend, and stabilize store/commerce solutions.

Must Have:
Retails Solution Engineering
- 6-10+ years in Retail POS domain (store operations, promotions/discounts, tenders/EFT, EOD/Z-reporting, stock/inventory).
- Strong, hands-on experience with Cegid Retail Y2 configuration and operations across POS, back-office, promotions, inventory, and omnichannel flows.
- Strong coding experience in Java, .NET, or Cegid scripting for POS customization.
- Good understanding of retail business processes (store operations, inventory, promotions, pricing).
- Familiarity with SQL, data analysis, and integration troubleshooting.
- Implement and configure Cegid Y2 retail solutions, including POS, back-office, and omnichannel modules.
- Support integration with ERP, CRM, payment gateways, and third-party retail systems.
- Coordinate with Cegid Y2 and third-party vendors (PSP, tax, loyalty) for escalations, patches, and version upgrades.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (Development, QA, Infrastructure) to ensure smooth deployments.
- Debug complex issues across Cegid Y2 , integrations, and database layers.
- Define SLIs/SLOs for store and omnichannel journeys (POS uptime, transaction success rate, latency, offline sync health).
- Instrument services and integrations with metrics, logs, traces (e.g., App Insights/CloudWatch/Splunk/ELK/Grafana), establishing SLOs/SLIs for stability and latency.
- Perform deep dives into POS logs, payment/ EFT traces, price/promo engines, Y2 middleware , SQL profiling, batch/ETL jobs, network & device drivers, offline replication/sync, and API retry/throttling.
- Execute capacity planning, peak-readiness (seasonal peak events), and cost/performance optimization.
Additional Responsibilities:
Incident and Problem Management Analytics
- Own the end-to-end incident lifecycle: detection, triage, mitigation, and service restoration within SLAs/SLOs.
- Lead major incident bridges across Engineering, Support, Infra, and vendors; manage stakeholder updates and timelines.
- Ability to lead root cause analysis, manage SEV1/SEV2 incidents, and implement permanent fixes
- Maintain on-call readiness, escalation paths, and accurate incident records; drive MTTR down quarter-over-quarter.
- Coordinate with internal teams and vendors to restore services quickly and minimize business impact.
- Maintain accurate incident logs and ensure timely escalation when required.
- Implement hotfixes safely (feature flags, canary, rollback/runbook execution).
- Lead RCA using 5-Whys/Fishbone and blameless post-incident reviews; document corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) with owners and timelines.
- Build and curate a Known Error Database (KEDB) and proactive backlog for systemic fixes and tech debt reduction.
- Identify systemic issues (recurring store sync failures, promo calc anomalies, EFT timeouts) and engineer durable fixes (idempotency, retries, circuit breakers).
- Track problem records, trend analysis, MTBF improvements, and defect escape rate reduction.
Nice to Have:
- 6+ years of experience in eCommerce application development with at least 2+ years in Cegid Y2.
- Cegid Y2 certification or formal training.
- Experience with payment integrations (Adyen/Worldline/Ingenico, EMV, tokenization) and fiscalization in relevant markets.
- Exposure to cloud/SaaS deployments , containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) , middleware/iPaaS and secrets management (Key Vault/Parameter Store).
- Experience integrating with ERP (SAP/Dynamics), OMS/PIM , and eCommerce platforms (e.g., order capture, BOPIS/ROPO, ship-from-store).
- Retail payments expertise (EFT/EMV/contactless, PSP integrations, device drivers).
- Proven experience with store rollout/upgrade projects and production support at scale (multi-country/multi-store).
- Familiarity with retail analytics tools (Power BI/Tableau) and experimentation/AB testing for retail.
- Certifications: ITIL v4 Foundation, retail/PCI compliance training, or vendor credentials related to Cegid/retail tech.
- Knowledge of payment systems, loyalty programs, and e-commerce integrations.
