  • Roles and Responsibilities:

  • 1. Server Administration
    • Install, configure, and maintain Windows-based servers (physical and virtual).
    • Perform regular system updates, patches, and performance tuning.
    • Manage server roles such as file services, print services, and remote access.
    2. Active Directory & Domain Services
    • Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
    • Manage user accounts, permissions, and authentication policies.
    • Ensure domain health and replication integrity.
    3. Virtualization Management
    • Operate and maintain virtual environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
    • Provision and manage virtual machines and resources.
    • Monitor and optimize virtual infrastructure performance.
    4. Backup & Disaster Recovery
    • Implement and manage backup solutions.
    • Ensure data recovery procedures are tested and documented.
    • Maintain business continuity through DR planning.
    5. Security & Compliance
    • Apply security patches and system hardening measures.
    • Monitor antivirus, endpoint protection, and firewall settings.
    • Ensure compliance with internal and external security standards.
    6. Monitoring & Troubleshooting
    • Use monitoring tools (e.g., SCOM, SolarWinds) to track system health.
    • Troubleshoot hardware, OS, and application-level issues.
    • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
    7. Automation & Scripting
    • Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for task automation.
    • Streamline repetitive administrative tasks and improve efficiency.
    8. Documentation & Reporting
    • Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations and procedures.
    • Generate reports on system performance, incidents, and compliance.
    9. Collaboration & Support
    • Work closely with network, storage, and application teams.
    • Provide L2/L3 support for escalated issues.
    • Participate in change management and CAB meetings.
    10. Cloud & Hybrid Integration (if applicable)
    • Support hybrid environments with Azure/AWS integration.
    • Manage cloud-hosted Windows workloads and services.
  • Skills /Competencies:
    • Windows Server Administration (2012/2016/2019/2022)
    • Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy Management
    • Virtualization Platforms: VMware, Hyper-V, NSX-T, Nutanix, Load Balancer,
    • PowerShell Scripting for automation and task management
    • Backup & Recovery Tools: Zerto, Nutanix DP, Rubrik.
    • Monitoring Tools: Dynatrace, SolarWinds, Zabbix,
    • Patch Management and OS hardening
    • Basic Knowledge on Cloud Platforms: Azure, AWS (for hybrid or cloud-integrated environments)
    • Security Tools: Antivirus, endpoint protection,
    • Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, OS, and network issues
    • Root cause analysis and performance optimization
    • Capacity planning and resource management
    • Degree/Degree in IT / Computer Science / related discipline
  • Additional Skills:
    • Excellent customer interfacing skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and outstanding analytical and Problem-solving skills.
