The mission of Learning at Indigo is to enable high-velocity experimentation at scale by relentlessly inspiring, developing, and accelerating our people. Since learning is considered a core part of the DNA at Indigo, the learning leadership team is closely linked to the strategy and operations of Indigo’s core business. As a result, Indigo is building a highly strategic Learning leadership team that spans Strategy, Operations, and our People team; this particular role will lead all of learning for Indigo’s Marketplace organization.

This role will develop and implement a comprehensive strategy that ensures the Marketplace organization has the skills, knowledge, and information to be successful in their roles. This role is based in Memphis, with travel, mostly to our Boston office.



Directly drive business outcomes of Indigo’s Marketplace organization by rapidly determining skill needs, assessing skill levels and closing skill gaps

  • Work as a trusted advisor and right-hand to the Marketplace senior leadership team to determine current and future skill needs
  • Be a hands-on coach and leader that works directly with the Marketplace team in 1-1 and group settings to understand skill levels relative to the needs of the organization
  • Create a strategy that increases the capability of the team, including building high retention content that is aligned with business priorities as measured by sales quota attainment and learning quality and consumption metrics
  • Analyze current processes and content, and suggest areas for efficiency improvement and automation


Build a world-class learning organization within Indigo Marketplace

  • Assist with building a compelling long-term learning vision for Marketplace and collaborate closely with Learning at Indigo to align with the overall learning strategy
  • Own responsibility for Indigo’s learning metrics within the Marketplace organization (e.g., own metrics like “time to productivity” for all Marketplace roles, and “value for time spent” for all training modules built for the Marketplace team)
  • Develop a comprehensive learning plan based on leadership requirements; include new employee onboarding and ongoing learning paths by function; own the master plan, calendar, and process for all training within Marketplace (e.g., including building a learning plan for all individual team members in the Marketplace organization)
  • In partnership with functional leaders, co-develop and inspect learning modules that articulate best practices around critical Marketplace processes and productivity tools that facilitate those processes



  • Ability to quickly understand drivers of Indigo’s business model, specifically how each role in our Marketplace business adds value to the bottom line
  • Excellent communicator; can explain complicated concepts simply to the Marketplace team and to senior leadership at Indigo
  • Skilled, energetic coach that can help others learn in both individual and group settings
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with key stakeholders to close process gaps and translate to learning needs
  • Ability to learn new technology quickly and build learning solutions from scratch (familiarity with existing e-learning solutions is a plus)
  • Understanding of the sales process

  • 5+ years of experience (or 2+ years’ experience in consulting, banking or a high-growth startup environment)
  • History of high achievement in a fast-paced, rigorous environment
  • Experience in sales leadership and training
  • Familiarity with specific sales process models (e.g. Challenger)
  • Direct experience thriving as a coach, manager, or trainer (for clients or teams)
  • Experience presenting as a confident, engaging teacher in front of a variety of audiences
  • Experience building project plans and managing complex projects across functions
  • Experience developing content that communicates ideas in a clear, easy to understand way
  • Experience with inside/outside teams and their different roles
  • Familiarity with “Hunter” vs. “Long Term Relationship Builder” approaches to sales
  • Ability to be based in Memphis, TN and to travel up to 50%
