Grain Marketing Manager

The Grain Marketing Manager will supervise, coach, lead and develop the team of Grain Marketing Bid Facilitators. Indigo Marketplace is helping to transform the agriculture industry, by allowing farmers a new way to market their grain. The Grain Marketing Bid Facilitator will work with growers to ensure they are able to transact on buyer bids and maximize their profitability. The successful candidate will combine a knowledge of commodities markets with a passion for helping growers identify sources of value for their crop.

Outcomes:

  • Create a framework to guide grower grain marketing decisions
  • Act as highest level of customer support and create steps to improve processes and customer option of Indigo
  • Understand each crop one-year life cycle and a marketing strategy based on Agronomic benchmarks as well as market factors
  • Act as aggregate “voice of grower” for feedback on grain marketing process through Marketplace to product management
  • Structure grower feedback collection feed the creation of the Bid Optimization Feedback
  • Serve as the engine to guide buyers on probability of bid filling
  • Structure grower feedback to Commodity Market Price Economics to refine data as presented to growers
  • Develop communication plan to keep sales abreast of hot topics
  • Manage communication to and from multiple functional areas
  • Hire and train a team of Grain Marketing Facilitators
  • Develop standard operating procedures for Grower Marketplace outreach
  • Serve as subject matter expert for Grower Customer Service around all things Marketplace
  • Contribute to management of technologies used in Marketplace daily operations

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required, Master’s preferred
  • Experience in agriculture related field
  • Grain marketing knowledge and experience required
  • Experience in commodity trading, market analysis, and/or risk management
  • Experience as a farmer is a plus
  • Experience leading or working with sales team strongly desired
  • 5-7 years of experience as Market Analyst, Grain Trader, or similar
