Senior Technical Project Manager

At Index Exchange everything moves fast. We’re looking for a Senior Technical Project Manager who will act as the chief of staff and work to help us redefine, scale and accelerate our approach on how we manage and deploy projects. Reporting directly to the SVP of Product, you’ll run point on all Engineering projects in the organization and you’ll work to institute processes and structure that ensure we deliver complex projects adhering to strict quality standards while balancing shifting timelines, priorities, resources and scope. The role will require extensive exposure and understanding of the software development lifecycle and methodologies used to build that technology - you will need to be well-versed in Agile approaches to building technology and be an advocate for and teacher of Agile across the organization. 

We are looking for someone who is: 

  • A Leader: You need to rally together teams across Engineering, UX, Marketing, Business Development & Client Services into a Voltron-esque mega-team. It will take a high degree of leadership and persuasion to get everyone pulling in the same direction
  • Technical: We’re a tech-first company - you will need to love working on big tech problems and have extensive experience with Engineering teams. Knowledge of different types of Agile as well as other SDLC methodologies is essential
  • Persistent: We want you to bother people (in a good way) - it's one of the key qualities that will make you effective as you work to keep projects on track with tight launch dates 

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Manage concurrent projects, hold tight launch dates, build relationships across the organization and communicate effectively at all levels
  • Leveraging a technical degree or background to work closely with Engineering teams on a wide-slate of projects. You love tech and have a B.Sc./B.Eng. in Computer Science, Math, Computer/Software Engineering or Physics
  • Act as a champion and expert on all things Agile. Certifications (Agile, PMP, etc.) are welcome but not required
  • Tracking information extensively and creating key metrics to track success and progress. Using data to make decisions is second nature to you
  • Using your 5+ years of experience to provide mentorship, knowledge sharing and best practices. Along with other leaders in Engineering we rely on you to set the tone and create an environment that motivates and inspires our employees with coaching, guidance and feedback
