IT Support Specialist

Technology is a cornerstone of our organization. From supporting the 65 plus employees in the office to our server infrastructure spread out over the globe, our success and growth depends on quick and effective deployment of this technology. We’re looking for a passionate and dedicated IT Support colleague to provide support to employees in our offices as well as assist with the installation, upgrade and maintenance of our hardware infrastructure in data centres around the world.

As part of the IT team you’re tasked with the responsibility to keep our end user systems and hardware operating smoothly. Laptops, in-office AV equipment, Telephony, office servers, routers, switches, and more are all within your purview.  Complete familiarity and in-depth experience with Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems is required.

Here’s what we want:

  • Problem Solver: No problem is too big for you to solve. Some daily tasks include; monitoring general bandwidth, capably diagnose, troubleshoot and escalate any problemsassist users with issues and manage helpdesk tickets
  • Adaptable: You will work with other teams, often remotely, to identify and resolve issues quickly. You will also occasionally be traveling to data centres and assemble, configure and prepare new hardware as well as install, upgrade and maintain existing hardware
  • Technical: You will need to be comfortable with different operating systems (Windows and OS X) and machines (PC, Mac) because you will be configuring and preparing hardware for new users and systems. Experience managing cloud services such as Office365 and Google Suite
  • Self-Driven: You’ll be on a small team with lots of autonomy and you need to be comfortable pushing your own projects and getting things done without a lot of oversight
  • Thorough: You maintain an impeccable level of cleanliness and organization and handle all issues big and small – there’s nothing beneath your station and no problem too complex/simple for you to help solve
  • Personable: You love working with people and get joy out of helping them resolve problems and finding ways to work better

Here’s what you have:

  • A B.Sc in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience and knowledge
  • Good knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP & DNS)
  • Experience working with networking equipment (switches, routers, firewalls)
  • Comfort working with Windows 7/10, and Mac OS X
  • 2+ years of experience in a related role 
  • A valid passport
  • Tasks will occasionally involve heavy lifting (75+ lb.) and the use of ladders
  • You need to be bondable so the necessary background checks will be performed
