Senior Analyst, Sales Compensation

This position will be responsible for performing and reviewing all commission related function, its processes, and its relationships. This position will also be responsible for supporting the day-to-day administration of Illumio’s global compensation plan and management of the administration. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams (including Legal, Finance, Sales, and HR) and must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization.

What You Will Accomplish:

Our Illumio Finance department is looking for someone to join our world class team.   • Monthly commission responsibilities

    • Manage the monthly commissions process for the various sales and customer success teams within our commissions model -- including understanding and consistently applying the commission plan, maintaining quotas and rates, and ensuring commission calculations are accurate and comply with the plan

    • Maintain the salesperson database for new hires, terminations, changes in positions and account assignments

    • Collaborate with sales and customer success teams on resolving commission-related issues, and manage case inquiries, process corrections, and adjustments as they arise

    • Manage/maintain individual compensation plans for salesperson (i.e. new hires, change plan)

    • Provide commission analysis, reporting, and support for the monthly close process

    • Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple departments including Sales, Finance, and HR to develop and continuously improve processes needed to support the commission process

    • Conducts weekly/ monthly audit and reconciliation of sales commission data to ensure values are accurate and bring paid according to plan

    • Consults with leaders from sales, and HR on plan design and questions and serves as Subject Matter Expert on plan designs

    • Engages resources to model proposed plan design changes

    • Evaluates exception requests and investigates to resolution or escalates as required

    • Development of audits and controls structured around variable comp processes

    • Support annual Sales Compensation Plan development as it relates to systems, reports, execution

  • Month-end close & reporting

    • Meet all payroll and month end close deadlines

    • Understand ASC340 and capitalize the commission according to the company’s policy

    • Post journal entries related to commission (i.e. accrued commission, capitalization)

    • Provide flux analysis for changes month over month or quarter over quarter

    • Prepare reconciliation for all related accounts

    • Support external audit whenever needed

  • System implementation and maintain

    • Help Xactly implementation to ensure all data migrate from excel is complete and accurate

    • Maintain and manage the plan logic in the system each year per new compensation plan

    • Works closely with development team to prioritize system automation and improvements

  • Monthly commission payout calculation based on different quota/rate/plan  

  • Maintain/issue individual compensation plan (ICP)

  • Xactly system experience

  • Collaborate with sales team for any commission related issues

  • Performs other duties as assigned or if needed

What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related area;

  • Minimum 5 years of professional work experience, experience in a technology (SaaS) company preferred;

  • Experience in Xactly, NetSuite, Salesforce or similar ERP/process system preferred

  • Advanced Excel and analytical skills; proficiency in PowerPoint and Word

  • Experience creating and working with complex financial models

  • Ability to effectively analyze large amounts of data and present key findings to leadership

  • Must demonstrate attention to detail, analytical abilities and consistent follow-through, including project management skills

  • Proven ability to partner with cross-functional teams, including sales, sales operation, legal, HR, payroll, accounting and finance

  • Action-oriented and solution-driven with the ability to thrive in a fast pace environment

  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
