Position Description

Illumio is looking for top technical talent and programming skills, as well as a desire to deeply understand our products and services to push our technology forward with respect to functionality, performance, reliability, and scalability. You will work alongside the best and the brightest engineering talent in the industry. Software engineers at Illumio develop innovative solutions and high-quality products, you will work on our core products with a Senior member of the team and depending on your background and experience, you will be working in one of the following areas:

Distributed Systems-Is a core team building our Policy Compute Engine, the central brain of Illumio’s system. We are a small, flat group. We embolden and listen to each engineer, not just the good orators or strong voices. We seek help with the design of critical features and subsystems and need someone who can not only come with the ideas but can also think things through; work out the details and defend the design before her peers. You will be writing non-blocking concurrent code for a distributed system that works inside the datacenter and across geographic boundaries.

Platform Integration – This team builds integrations with platforms and devices, and works in conjunction with the Policy Compute Engine to enable network visibility and to translate high level policies to platform specific policies. We look for people who have a strong interest in platforms and lower level networking concepts, but who can pop up the stack and work on simplifying these lower level concepts in order to remove this complexity for customers. We empower individuals on the team to take ownership and work to drive innovation from within the team.

DevOps- is a growing team that partners closely with Engineering and Support. We are responsible for the design, deployment, and continuous operation of the Illumio ASP cloud ecosystem. We need your help to take our existing platform to the next level with CI/CD, automated diagnostics/scaling/healing, and more.

Front End -This team builds multiple full stack web applications with different frameworks, libraries or tools that support web application development. The team helps solve tough engineering problems in a scalable, usable web application that helps people understand and secure complex distributed applications.

UXD -The UXD team is responsible for the visual and interactive experience in the Illumio ASP. We do everything from ideation to pixel-perfecting, including, wire-framing, prototyping, testing and more! We believe that good user research is a large part of the design process and are constantly testing and refining our solutions. We lead the company with a design first user centered philosophy

Performance-This team measures, analyzes, and debugs to enhance the performance and scalability of large sophisticated distributed systems. The team spans expertise in software, hardware, networking, and the Internet.

System Test. The system-test team environment focuses on security in the virtualized computing and networking ecosystems. You will get to contribute to expanding the existing automation framework with meaningful projects as part of your day to day activities.
