Linux Virtual Enforcement Node (VEN) System Engineer

As a senior Linux Systems engineer you will be a member of the Illumio VEN engineering team working on cutting-edge flexible security products for protecting our customers from cyber threats.
You will be responsible for designing a light-weight VEN and it’s functionality on the Linux platform. The Virtual Enforcement Node’s functions are to:
• To inspect the environment on the workload it manages
• Communicate this information to the Policy Compute Engine (PCE)
• Download the policy from the PCE
5-10 Years Linux application development.
Solid networking fundamentals (L2-L7)
Understanding of the Linux Networking stack and the ability to create applications using native OS socket layer (TCP/IP socket programming).
Proven experience developing/shipping and supporting enterprise level applications using C/C++.
Experience developing applications on at least one of the following Linux distribution (RedHat/CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu, SUSE Enterprise)
Linux scripting experience using bash, Python, or Perl.
Nice to Have:
Experience with C++ STL
Algorithms and graph theory in C++.
Understanding of Linux Netfilter (iptables/ipset/conntrack and interfaces into the Linux Kernel) lower level implementation details and relationship/interaction with the kernel TCP stack.
