Operations Analyst - Astral

Astral is looking for a dedicated and dependable candidate to join our fast-growing team.  You'll need to be up for a challenge, as you'll be required to quickly become proficient with the mechanics of electronic trading, U.S. equity market structure, and the support of an innovative cloud-hosted big data platform.  You will demonstrate the composure and aptitude required to work effectively with clients and colleagues in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

This position is best suited for a highly-collaborative individual with strong communication skills and a meticulous attention to detail.  You’ll work directly with hedge funds, investment managers, brokers, regulators, and financial technology firms to expand access to and understanding of algorithmic trading strategies in the U.S. equities market.

What you’ll do:

  • Operation of the production platform and the support of its partners within the electronic trading industry
  • Support of internal teams at Astral – including Development, Sales, and Compliance
  • Execute and maintain daily operational procedures
  • Develop expertise with Astral systems, U.S. equities market functionality, order types, and external interfaces
  • Develop advanced knowledge of market rules and regulations
  • Manage interactions and quality assurance with external market participants including SIPs, market centers, clients and brokers
  • Design and automate system activity reports for business and compliance functions
  • Ongoing maintenance of Astral operational procedures
  • Onboarding of new clients and brokers
  • Configuration of new clients and brokers within the production platform
  • Enforcement of Astral’s Operating Policies
  • Publication of alert notifications to industry participants
  • Participation in Astral product development and business development initiatives

Your background:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience
  • Fluency with PowerPoint and Excel
  • Prior experience in financial markets is not necessary, but a strong commitment to learning is
  • Rotated through an analyst program at an investment bank, consulting firm, or company with a highly structured entry level program (e.g., GE’s Financial Management Program), a plus
