Field Service Technician

Position Summary

Our Field Service Technicians support the Security Imaging Systems Business throughout the United States. They are responsible for customer relationship management through the effective use of technical knowledge to install, service, and maintain customer sites. Upon completion of training, our field service technicians will deploy to designated customer sites where they will troubleshoot, install and repair Computed Tomography (CT) equipment. The qualified candidates will demonstrate initiative and dedication through positive use of downtime and an overall willingness and eagerness to consistently exceed our company and customer requirements.

  • Responsible for meeting daily service repair needs and driving customer satisfaction

  • Installs, repairs and maintains equipment in the field; order, install, and return parts and manages repair parts cycle time

  • Maintains field service log and filing system to properly initiate, organize and maintain all field service and job files until work is completed

  • Provides technical support to other IDSS and third-party service professionals as required

  • May participate in site surveys, pilot program service activities, attend meetings, champion special projects and prepare exclusive reports internally and externally

  • Comply with and ensure department compliance with Company health, safety and environmental policies

  • Comply with all applicable U.S. export control and security regulations

  • Exhibit professional appearance and conduct while performing assigned duties and in front of our customers

Core Capabilities

  • Electro-Mechanical Maintenance and Repair

  • Possesses basic technical knowledge of X-Ray technologies

  • Customer Relationship Management focused

  • Problem Solving/Analysis

  • Demonstrates good electronic repair troubleshooting methodology

  • Ability to maintain an intermediate technical level of product knowledge

  • Ability to read and follow electrical/mechanical schematics to assist in isolating fault to root cause component/assembly

  • Maintains clear and concise business communication proficiency, both oral and written

  • Computer literacy; competency in use of all programs within MS Office Suite

  • Due to the nature of the work required, candidates must be able to physically lift a minimum of 75 pounds and twist, bend, kneel, lift, pull, and stand without limitations

Required Education and Experience

  • Associates Degree, Related Trade Certification or Military Training (electrical, electronic, mechanical)

  • Minimum of five years-experience directly involved in troubleshooting and field repair of electrical and electronic systems and equipment

Travel

Must be a U.S. Citizen and maintain a current US Passport. This position requires flexibility to work and travel outside frequently outside of normally business hours Sunday-Saturday. Must be willing & able to travel on short notice to customer sites domestically and internationally as designated.
