Title: Clinical Collaborations Manager, Medical Imaging
Location: Cambridge, MA (Boston) or Mississauga, ON

The Rapid Development is a team of Scientists and Cognitive Software Developers within IBM Watson Health Imaging. In collaboration with cross-functional Watson Health teams, IBM Research and external partners, the team develops cognitive solutions that combine imaging and clinical data to enhance clinical decision making. The team is responsible for developing and validating robust and scalable cognitive services (text analytics and image analytics) and applications, including validation and evaluation of technologies being transferred from Research and other collaborators. The team follows Agile and DevOps methodologies to enable rapid iteration and responsiveness.

We are looking for self-motivated and driven candidates that are passionate about working on cutting edge technologies and that thrive in a highly collaborative environment. Specifically, we are looking for a Clinical Collaborations Manager who can manage the research collaborations with our partners in academic hospitals and universities (US and outside US).

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Drive and own the clinical collaborations process for Watson Health Imaging. The process should follow IBM's regional and global policies.
  • Define and implement research collaboration agreements with academic hospitals and universities. The collaborations should be clinically relevant and of mutual interest to the partner and Watson Health Imaging.
  • Work with the offering management and strategy teams to ensure alignment on topics such as product development, solution development and cross-functional projects.
  • Actively track progress of the collaborations and help mitigate foreseeable problems.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners on clinical publications/abstracts and white papers.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • M.D. medical degree. Or Master's in major similar to Image Processing, Biomedical Engineering or Physics
  • 4+ years of experience in hospital / radiology facing roles
  • Expert level in Communications (spoken, written and presentations)
  • Experienced in Negotiations (generating a positive outcome for all parties concerned)
  • Experienced in multi-tasking and handling competing priorities

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
  • Ph.D. in either Image Processing, Biomedical Engineering, Physics or equivalent
  • Experience with clinical data management, privacy and regulations governing academic research (IRB approvals)
