Your role and responsibilities
As a Technical Content Professional, you will create, develop, curate, and analyze technical content for digital self-service products. This includes technical documentation, UX content, embedded assistance, training, blogging, and support content delivered in various online and print formats. You will advocate for users during the engineering and design processes, ensuring content is easy to find, useful, and current. Technical Content Professionals may specialize in UX content, product documentation, UI writing, embedded assistance, technical writing, multimedia production, visual design, instructional design, and digital learning.
Your primary responsibilities include:
- Evaluate, contextualize, and synthesize complex concepts and information to deliver content as AI-ready data.
- Develop the right type of content at the right for the right user. This might include online product help, user guides, API/SDK/CLI/Terraform reference docs, multimedia content.
- Work closely with marketing, design, development, and product management to contribute high-quality content in support of effective IBM Cloud user experiences.
- Research and understand user requirements
- Research and understand product features, functionality, and value
- Approach documentation from an end user usage scenario perspective, requiring a strong sense of understanding of the product/service itself and ability to be hands-on to be able to document the user flows in a most appropriate and consumable manner, with personal experience.

Required technical and professional expertise
- Excellent writing and research skills
- Ability to apply progressive disclosure
- Ability to develop topic-based, persona-driven content
- Knowledge of markup languages, such as DITA or XML, or in Markdown
- Knowledge of Agile or continuous delivery development environment
- Knowledge of version control or CMS systems, or Git
- Ability to work independently while maintaining an extremely strong sense of responsibility and commitment to teamwork
- Zeal to explore and learn cloud services/products from an end user perspective
- English: Fluent
Preferred technical and professional experience
- Knowledge of cloud concepts and technologies
- Experience with AI-first content design and development
- Ability to implement a content strategy around both human and AI needs
- Understanding of how AI models work to craft clear input and evaluate output with critical judgement
- Persona-based prompt development for building and refining prompts to direct AI output toward specific content goals
- Experience with documenting APIs, SDKs, CLIs
- Knowledge of Markdown, HTML 5
- Knowledge of GitHub
- Basic programming experience in any of the following languages: Java, Ruby, PHP, Python, Swift, Go, ObjectiveC, Node
