Senior Software Architect

Job Description
IBM Systems is seeking a STSM/Senior Architect for Blockchain development. It is a technical position intended to lead the organization by providing clarity and vision in IBM Blockchain offerings and help in IBM's growth in the market. The ideal candidate should demonstrate clear technical leadership roles, drive growth in both business and technical communities, are involved in many areas both inside and outside IBM, and participate and have an effect beyond the normal job scope.

The responsibilities of the STSM/Senior Architect include the contribution to a significant degree to the organization's utilization of leading edge technology in its products, services, processes or tools. This should require a knowledge of Blockchain industry advances and the applicability of these advances to the product portfolio. Contribute to the advancement of technology and engineering through publications in professional journals and speaking at industry conferences. STSM/Architect should create publications, speak at industry conferences, and/or be actively engaged with customers, providing those customers with technical leadership. Participate in IBM's patent application and copyright programs and/or participate in managing complex projects, developing intellectual capital and defining new methodologies to enhance IBM's ability to meet its business objectives. Serve as an internal resource in recruiting new hire candidates.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • At least 3 years of professional technical experience as a Public Cloud solution software architect
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in Docker and Kubernetes
  • Required strong understanding of Cloud technologies with hands-on experience
  • Must have experience with SQL, REST API testing and Linux fundamentals
  • Requires the ability to work independently with substantial latitude for action and decision while maintaining focus on achieving optimal outcomes as part of a collaborative development effort
  • Work within Agile processes and contribute to release readiness reporting based on the outcome of development and test activities


Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • Experience with Linux on System z including HMC usage and Virtual Guest on a VM
  • Understanding of Blockchain technologies and have the capability to independently build Blockchain expertise
