Job Description

This role specializes in performing and enabling remote technical support of IBM Industry Solution software and solutions. Provides technical support assistance to customers using problem determination/problem source identification skills. Utilizes technical and negotiation skills in collaboration with other support operations/organizations to prioritize and diagnose problems to resolution. Communicates action plans to the customer or IBM representative as appropriate. Recommends and implements new or improvements to existing technical support tools, procedures, and processes. Contributes to department attainment of organizational objectives and high customer satisfaction. Excellent opportunity to work directly with customers utilizing the latest Watson FSS applications


- Ensuring client issues are responded in a timely manager as a client advocate
- Manage client expectations as a client account manager
- Producing Social Technology content to ensure self-serve - knowledge articles, blogs and videos
- Collaborate with various functional, client and vendor teams to resolve complex issues
- Continuous development and learning in various Algo technologies and integrations
- Train and/or Coach individuals on product specific knowledge
- Provide consultancy for value added offerings, including advising clients on best practices, health checks, and performance analysis
- Highlight concerns and improve existing procedures/processes

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Must be Proficient in:
- Providing an exceptional client experience through client advocacy
- UNIX operating systems: AIX and RHEL (Linux), including patching and installing software
- Database technologies - DB2, Oracle databases, MS SQL Server, and/or Cassandra (bonus - certification)
- Scripting - Python or Shell Script
- Troubleshooting complex technical multi-tier architectures with multiple vendors and client teams

Must have Working Knowledge of:
- Windows desktop and Server operating systems
- D ebugging Internet Browsers using tools such as FireBug, Chrome Dev Tools
- WebSphere, IBM HTTP Server (IHS), and other application servers.
- Programming languages: Java, C, C++
- Networking principles, schedulers, message queues, e.g. ActiveMQ or IBM MQ
- Reading J2EE stack traces, system stack traces, analysing java memory dumps
- Understanding in reading, implementing, and debugging software APIs, REST, WebSockets

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

Preferred Knowledge of:
- ITIL, KCS, Kanban, Design Thinking, Agile
- Big Data technologies - Hadoop, Spark
- Virtualization: VMWare, vSphere, ESX Server, Windows Terminal Services
- 3rd party authentication: SAML, and LDAP
- Report writing and/or reporting framework modelling with leading BI tools (i.e.: Cognos Report Studio)
- Workflow technologies - IBM BPM
- DevOps technologies - Anisble, Docker, Kubernetes, Urban Code Deploy
- IBM Installation Manager

PRMIA certified Risk Professional or GARP ERP equivalent
